On seeing and booking a room here on booking.com and travelling for 4 hours, we were very disappointed on the poor upkeep of the room, mould and peeling paint in the bathroom, spare pillows were stained, entrance door in need of replacing, dirty extractor fan and radiator, limescale around the kettle, . We ended up having to cancel, costing us £90 and find another place at the last minute :( .. Hopefully, the issues get rectified ASAP..

The new owners of The Nelson are incredibly warm and welcoming as soon as you step into the bar. Great selection of pints. Love seeing the pub come back to life and revamped!

Menu was nothing like online. Food was not great. The place was empty on a Saturday night should have gone else where.

It's okay. It didn't make me want to plan a return visit but it was okay, nothing special but nothing bad either.

The restaurant has 4 stars yet we were so disappointed, the best thing was the drinks for us, we ordered the pork sandwich but it came with just 3 slivers of pork on a huge bun with an uncut shallot. We ordered nachos and cheese which the cheese was a bit burnt, just not very impressed with the quality of the food verses the prices of said food.

Very good pub in Burnham Market, just of the main town area, very friendly staff. Excellent food. The lobster salad was delicious & very good value.

We stayed here 10th & 11th July '23. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were welcoming, helpful and supportive.  The meals we had were well prepared and presented. But this is a place waiting for it's turn on the "Hotel inspector" or "Ramsey's kitchen nightmares". They had no beer other than Guinness or spanish lager during our stay,  literally a pub with no beer! The menu bore no resemblance to that posted on line but did have items that aspired to a gastro pub. However, they also had all the pub classics plus pizza. The decor is a confused mish mash of styles and like the menu appears to have an identity crisis. On Tuesday night the curry special came with chips; because they'd run out of rice. How does a pub restaurant run out of two staples like beer and rice on curry night? It's a real shame. The meals we did have were very good but the place is a shambles and you can't help thinking it might have been good luck and the commitment of the onsite staff that prevented this being a one star disaster.

We didn't stay in the rooms so can't comment, but will say that the Sunday Carvery was the best I have ever had! Staff here are fantastic, the food is fantastic so the rooms must be fantastic too! We'll worth a visit we shall definitely return!

Looking for somewhere to eat last-minute ( again) . Found this place after a couple which were not open. Friendly service and food was OK, but can't say we would go again.

Menu on the website is wrong and totally misleading. Mega expensive for pub grub and sports pub surroundings. £15 for a veggie pizza.. Other mains way into the £20s. Really poor they can't even be bothered to sort their own website out and luring people in on false pretences.

Stopped by for some lunch during a walk from Wells. An old pub I think but done out in a modern style. A friendly welcome. Sports TV showing golf with loud commentary at one side competing with commercial radio* playing from the other side. Only 3 tables occupied with people clearly interested in neither so presumably for the benefit of the staff. We drank up and went to find lunch elsewhere. *I really object to commercial radio in pubs. I'm paying to drink/eat there so I don't expect to be bombarded with advertising.

Perfect location to visit family in South Creake....we had two rooms for ourselves and family. Very spacious rooms on the ground floor and we were able to park literally outside our rooms which was perfect as one of our party is visually impaired. Breakfast was included and was delicious, the young lady, Pauline ? , who looked after us on the 2nd morning was so bright and bubbly, nothing was too much trouble. We'd ran out of toilet roll ..only half a roll in the bathroom when we checked in and she soon helped us with another roll !! If we had to have a negative and unfortunately we do, the mattress in our room 7 was absolutely past it's best. No spring whatsoever and huge areas of lumps and bumps ... genuinely shocking. Made both our nights there very restless. No outside light working near the entrance exit to our rooms which for many is no big deal for many but because of one members very poor eyesight it made it very precarious for him. All I'm all not a bad place ...just needs a bit of attention to detail. Our room needed a lick of paint and the dirt around the bathroom taps addressing, paint peeling of the gloss work in the bathroom and the bathroom electric heater didn't work..so bracing showers !!! But these are minor things and didn't hinder our short time using the rooms.

Had a wonderful chicken curry with excellent waitress service. Normally would be put off by somewhere advertising Sky sports but was meeting up with others there and was pleasantly surprised.

On arrival for our two night stay we were shown to our room however there was an issue with it, Pauline the Manageress immediately resolved it to our satisfaction. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food in the bar/restaurant was very good and the breakfast was excellent quite possibly the best I have had, we shall visit again when in the area. Compliments to Pauline and her partner the chef.

Spent loads money on refurbishment and the place is still empty. Barring locals probably not a good idea. The bloke running it thinks he's something aswell. Give the place a miss
